Bright Horizons Psychiatry is an interventional psychiatry practice in Maryland offering TMS, Spravato (esketamine) and IM ketamine, alongside psychiatric evaluation and medication management. CuraReach has run their SEO, website, paid search and AI optimization since May 2025.
In 15 months, Bright Horizons Psychiatry grew the number of patients starting treatment 3.5x, grew patient enquiries 3.2x and opened a second location. The practice now starts around nine interventional psychiatry patients a month, a treatment book we estimate at roughly $1 million a year.
2 locations, 3.5x treatment starts, 3.2x enquiries, ~9 interventional starts a month. Here is where each number comes from.
The results (May 2025 to August 2026)
| Result | Change | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Clinic locations | 1 → 2 (Rockville and Frederick) | Public, the practice website |
| Patients starting treatment | 3.5x | The practice’s own records, aggregate |
| Patient enquiries | 3.2x | The practice’s own records, aggregate |
| Interventional treatment starts | ~9 a month (TMS, Spravato, IM ketamine) | The practice’s own records, aggregate |
| Estimated treatment value | ~$1M a year | Estimate: starts × published course prices, billed value not margin |
| Non-brand Google clicks | 3.8x (20% → 41% of all clicks) | Google Search Console, Jun–Aug 2025 vs Jun–Aug 2026 |
| Average Google position | #46.6 → #10.1 | Google Search Console, May 2025 vs Aug 2026 |
The second location is the number that counts. Practices do not open one on optimism. It happens when demand outgrows the chairs.
It is also the practice’s achievement, not ours. CuraReach runs four of the channels feeding it: SEO, the website, paid search and AI optimization. The treatment and enquiry figures above are practice-wide, across every channel Bright Horizons runs. We were one input into that growth, not the cause of it.
The challenge
Four out of every five clicks from Google were people searching the practice by name. Search was confirming demand, not creating it.
Average position across everything the site ranked for was #46.6, page five. The patients typing “does Medicaid cover a psychiatrist in Rockville” or “how much does Spravato cost” were finding somebody else.
What we did
Rebuilt the site around the questions patients ask before they are ready to call, one page per question.
- Insurance coverage: Medicaid and Medicare acceptance, by location
- Cost, stated plainly: Spravato with insurance and without, TMS next to ECT
- Access: same-day appointments, for the person searching at 11pm
- Treatment comparisons: NeuroStar vs BrainsWay, TMS vs ECT, accelerated TMS
Paid search ran alongside, built around insurance and treatment-specific queries, with tracking configured so patient information never reaches the ad platforms.
How the search numbers built
The first six months looked like failure. Impressions fell by two thirds while the site stopped appearing for queries it had no business appearing for. Position climbed from #46.6 to #13.0 over the same stretch and clicks held flat. Then it compounded: monthly Google clicks went from 795 to 2,175 (2.7x), and 45 keywords now rank in Google’s top three, worth 11,510 searches a month.
Where a third-party tool put traffic growth at 4.8x, Google’s own click data said 2.7x. We publish Google’s.
What nine starts a month is worth
One completed course of TMS bills roughly $8,000. One course of Spravato is closer to $12,000. Nine a month is 108 patients a year, which at those prices puts the practice’s interventional treatment book between $864,000 and $1.3 million a year. IM ketamine courses cost less, so the true figure depends on the mix. Treat it as an estimate, not a measurement.
| Treatment starts | Patients / year | At $8,000 (TMS) | At $12,000 (Spravato) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 a month | 36 | $288,000 | $432,000 |
| 6 a month | 72 | $576,000 | $864,000 |
| 9 a month | 108 | $864,000 | $1,296,000 |
That is the whole argument for this specialty. You do not need volume. Nine of the right patients a month is a seven-figure treatment book, and the difference between three a month and nine is not a bigger ad budget. It is being the practice a patient finds when they search what a course costs and whether their insurance covers it.
Now cited by AI engines
Google Search Console recorded roughly 170,000 AI Overview impressions between 3 June and 5 September 2026, about 22% of every Google impression the site earned. Two checks you can run yourself in two minutes:
- Ask Perplexity where to get Spravato or TMS near Rockville, Maryland. It names Bright Horizons first, ahead of a national TMS chain, citing five separate pages from the site.
- Search Google for “how much does Spravato cost.” Bright Horizons ranks #3 organic, above the National Institutes of Health, above Reddit, above every other clinic in the country.
What this means for your clinic
If most of your search traffic is people typing your practice name, search is not bringing you patients. It is helping the ones you already have find your phone number. Answer the coverage, cost and access questions your patients ask before they call, and structure them so an AI engine can quote them. Expect two quarters before it shows. After that it compounds.

Frequently asked questions
Did SEO actually bring the practice more patients?
Over 15 months the number of people starting treatment grew 3.5x, patient enquiries grew 3.2x, and the practice went from one location to two. It now starts around nine TMS, Spravato and IM ketamine patients a month, which we estimate at roughly $1 million a year in billed course value. Those are practice-wide figures across every channel Bright Horizons runs. CuraReach runs four of them (SEO, the website, paid search and AI optimization), so we count ourselves as one input into that growth, not the cause of it.
How long before SEO works for a psychiatry practice?
For Bright Horizons, impressions fell for six months while the site’s structure changed, then grew every quarter after. Average Google position went from #46.6 to #10.1 and non-brand clicks grew 3.8x year on year. Two quarters before meaningful movement is realistic in interventional psychiatry.
Can a small practice appear in Google AI Overviews?
Yes. Bright Horizons is a two-location Maryland practice, and Google Search Console recorded roughly 170,000 AI Overview impressions for the site between 3 June and 5 September 2026, about 22% of all its Google impressions in that window. Appearing in AI answers follows from publishing specific, checkable information such as prices, coverage rules and direct comparisons, not from domain size.
How much is an interventional psychiatry treatment book worth?
One patient, one completed course. A course of TMS bills roughly $8,000 and a course of Spravato roughly $12,000, consistent with US published ranges of $6,000 to $12,000 for a 36-session TMS course and $4,000 to $8,000 for Spravato induction plus $1,000 to $4,000 a month for maintenance. IM ketamine courses cost less. Nine treatment starts a month is 108 patients a year, which at TMS and Spravato prices puts annual billed course value between $864,000 and $1.3 million. Those are billed amounts, not margin. This is why interventional psychiatry does not need volume to work. It needs a small number of the right patients every month.
